UK Status Resident. Local SW,WC,N Montgomeryshire Status A fairly local and uncommon species that has been recorded from scattered sites on the western side of the county. Wingspan : M & F, 30-36mm. Confusion species Crinan Ear, Ear Moth and Saltern Ear. |

  Habitat Marshes and wet moorland. Foodplant Purple moor-grass and cottongrass. Lifestage data Overwinters as an egg. Larva May-July, feeding at first inside the lower stems, later amongst the roots. Pupates amongst the plant litter. |
